atlas
Source control for agents. Use multiple coding agents, track their changes and query them in one place
Atlas is a source control platform for AI coding agents that tracks agent-generated code changes alongside the prompts and reasoning that produced them. It runs multiple coding agents—Claude Code, Codex, and Atlas's native agent—side by side against the same codebase with shared memory, so developers can switch between agents mid-task without losing context. Every agent session is captured as a checkpoint linking commits back to the prompts, tool calls, and file changes that created them, making all agent decisions queryable months later. The platform works locally by default, storing code, notes, and sessions on your machine with no account required.
Key Features
Use Cases
- 01Running Claude Code and Codex against the same project while preserving context when switching between agents
- 02Auditing which agent made specific code changes and understanding the reasoning behind each commit
- 03Building a persistent knowledge base of architectural decisions and agent changes across all coding sessions
- 04Reviewing agent session transcripts months later to understand why particular implementation decisions were made
- 05Collaborating across teams with shared agent memory and synchronized checkpoints
- 06Using @ mentions to inject relevant past sessions, documentation, and research papers into new agent prompts

atlas — FAQ
What is Atlas?+
Atlas is a source control platform for AI coding agents that records agent sessions as checkpoints, linking commits back to the prompts, tool calls, and reasoning that produced them. It runs multiple agents (Claude Code, Codex, and its own native agent) with shared memory so switching agents mid-task preserves context.
How do I install Atlas?+
Download the latest .dmg installer from tryatlas.cc or the GitHub releases page for macOS. To build from source, you need Bun, Rust (via rustup), and Xcode Command Line Tools, then run 'bun install' and 'bun run dev:app' in the cloned repository.
Which AI agents does Atlas work with?+
Atlas runs Claude Code, Codex, its own native agent built on the Cersei framework, and any agent from the ACP registry including Cursor, OpenCode, and Kilo Code. All agents go through the same context injection path with shared memory.
Do I need API keys or an Atlas account to use it?+
You need your existing Claude Code or Codex subscription to run those agents through Atlas. The native Atlas agent runs without external dependencies. No Atlas account is required for local-only usage; accounts are optional for syncing across devices and teams.
Is Atlas free and open source?+
Yes, Atlas is open source under the MIT license. The core platform runs entirely locally on your machine with no account required, though team sync features require creating an Atlas organization account.
What platforms does Atlas support?+
macOS is the officially supported platform with tested releases. Linux and Windows build from the same Tauri codebase but are currently untested.
How do I install atlas?+
Open the source repository on GitHub and follow its README. atlas is a agent — MCP Agents Market links you directly to the official repo.
Is atlas free?+
atlas is an open-source project hosted on GitHub. Check the repository for its license and any usage requirements.
